Brett Richardson

Senior Pastor

My passion in life is connecting with God and helping others to do the same through sharing the gracious story of Jesus. I enjoy teaching God’s Word, encouraging people in their life with God, listening to people, hearing their story, and meeting them where they are at.

I am married to Ruth (1989) who works as a physiotherapist two days a week and loves spending time with our church family, leading a church growth group, and children’s ministry. We have two grown up children who are married and both have two children. We love spending time with our family.

I love living in Wollongong. I love surfing and getting out and about in this wonderful part of God’s creation. Wollongong is also blessed with so many people from other cultures and I love learning about them and eating their wonderful food. I also love playing jazz and watching movies.

Sang Kim

PASTORAL ASSISTANT

As a Christian, I am deeply passionate about guiding others in their faith journey — whether they are just beginning or seeking to grow in their walk with God. Although I was raised in a loving Christian family, I didn’t personally become a Christian until adulthood, when I read the Bible for the first time on my own. That experience deeply reinforced my belief that God’s Word alone has the power to transform hearts and lives. That’s why I believe it’s so important to teach and preach the Bible faithfully. I am also thankful for the privilege of teaching Scripture (SRE) at local primary schools, which is a wonderful opportunity to share God’s truth with the next generation.

I am married to Hannah, and we are blessed with our beautiful toddler daughter, Anastasia — with another little one on the way. As a family, we love spending time together at local parks, playgrounds, and beaches. At home, we speak and pray in Korean, cherishing the opportunity to nurture both our faith and culture together.

In my spare time, I enjoy brewing coffee and sharing a good cup with friends — something that often leads to meaningful conversations about life and faith.

Jenny Shannon

women's ministry co-ordinator

My role is to engage closely with the women in the church to help them to grow in spiritual maturity and in their capacity for discipleship.

I have been married to Allan for more than forty years. I enjoy reading and I love the beach; looking at it, walking beside it and swimming in it.

I became a Christian when I was a teenager and have spent the last four decades growing in my knowledge and understanding of who Jesus is and what he has done for us. My guess is God hasn’t finished with me yet and I anticipate there will be more ‘growing’ in the ensuing decades.
